You have got a website. As you know, except the fact that the site should have attractive layout, and be easy to use, it also must be optimized for search engines.
Such sites can be successfully popularized in the Internet via search engines (appearing in search engines with the help of those keywords that reflect the content of the site).
Optimization of the site is a difficult task, which can be carried out only by highly qualified professionals.
Nevertheless, the customer can independently assess the readiness of his site for effective representation in the Internet.
Here are some simple pieces of advice, which can help to make such a review. However, you should keep in mind that these recommendations do not contain a complete list of steps for optimization of your site to the requirements of search engines.
1. The site should have clearly defined with the help of keywords topics.
In addition to the overall list of keywords, a separate list for each important page should be created.
2. The site should be filled with texts. Text on each page of the site should contain specified keywords.
Each page must have a unique title (tag TITLE, appears as the title of the browser window). The title should contain key words.
3. Navigation via the site should be available when JavaScript and Flash are off. There should not be pages, not available through normal links.
All images on the site should be identified as ALT (text that appears when you turn off the pictures).
4. If the site is large or complicated in navigation it should be created the map of the site - a special page with links to other pages.
5. Important pieces of text and key words on the page should be distinguished by special tags (H1, H2, STRONG, B, EMP)
6. It should be no redirection to other pages at the site entrance.
Leading page should be filled with text. Splash-pages usually are a sign of not optimized site.
7. The site should not be automatically fitted for user, depending on his browsers settings (automatic choice of language is a bad sign).
8. The addresses of site pages should not include such options like Id, if the user did not do any special procedures (i.e., did not register or order goods).
This verification must be done when the cookies are excluded.
Options such as Id are often passed in cookies, but if cookies are excluded - then in the page address. Searching engines do not support cookies.
9. The texts on the pages of the site should not be extremely large (more than 100 kilobytes per page) and should not be extremely small (1-10 words).
It is convenient to perform some items of site testing in the browser Opera, where there is easy access to such settings as displaying images on the page, and turning off cookies, JavaScript and style sheets.
After turning off these opportunities you will see the site pages from the point of search engine view.
Although, for more precise analysis, there are specialized online services, such as: http://www.searchengineworld.com/cgi-bin/sim_spider.cgi.
Please check your site.
If it does not meet these criteria, you have a reason to think over, whether your site will be adequately supplied in search engines.
Maybe, you need to make a claim for site developers and refer to the Website Optimizer.
In case when all is well, it is quite possible that if you adhere simple rules a worthy position of your site in the Internet is in your power.
